While an Italian chief of police, Gianni De Genaro admits the use of "illegal excessive force" among his underlings during the battle of Genova, 112 civil charges made against police officers by protesters during and after the battle of Gothenburg, are not investigated. According to officials within the judicial system this is caused by lack of available personal to lead "interrogations". The case files and documents in the matter were initially turned over to the police in Skovde, by the Attorney General, "to get an impartial evaluation", but has since then been turned over to the Stockholm police. The assistant attorney general in Sweden, Solveig Riberdahl says the charges will be investigated "as soon as possible".
