   THE BATTLE OF GENOVA

Silvio Berlosconi's thugs made use of at least one of the body bags ordered in advance of the G8 meeting. One protester was shot in the head by a police officer Friday, and then run over twice by a fortified vehicle. Various representatives for Italian authorities have made conflicting statements, but it seems that the police officer who did the shooting is charged for firing the weapon killing the Italian activist. Charges against the driver of the fortified vehicle "are being considered". Critical voices are saying that this is just the usual establishment theater scenery sham anyway. Policemen are never convicted in such cases. They are rather given a medal or two.
The inner "red zone" of Genova was fortified and guarded by 20000 policemen and units from the army, but groups of dedicated protesters still managed to break in.
The activists have this to say to the people obediently following the orders and directions from the police:
   - The "peaceful protesters" sitting on their asses, singing, the appeasers are claiming we're ruining it all for them. Perhaps we are, in a way, ruining their illusion of how the world is working. But our claim is that they are ruining it for US. They're claiming to want to speak to people, tyrants who obviously aren't listening, and they're supporting uncritically the propaganda machine blaming active protesters for defending themselves. They're supporting the tyranny.
None of the "terrorist attacks" hyped in advance by the authorities used as pretext to use land to land missiles, close off the borders, close down the cellular phone network and buy body bags were implemented. No terrorists were visible anywhere except those wearing suits and uniforms.

G8: BRUTAL POLICE "SEARCH" IN GENOVA

Activists were beaten with clubs and kicked night to Sunday by units from the Italian police and army raiding the press office of the protesters' umbrella organization. About ten people were arrested. 20 were injured. Spokesmen for the authorities claim clubs, knives and black T-shirts??? were confiscated.
