The Weekly Report Cornerstone

   WEEK 7 Feb 4th to 10th 2002

   BRITAIN UNDER SIEGE

There are issued 43 flood warnings throughout Great Britain this week alone.
For over a week now Great Britain has been under siege from the forces of nature. It started in Scotland and in the north and has since moved south and to virtually all parts of the island.
A few years ago a real estate broker sold a house to a man, telling him the floods in the area were rare and mild, which was true, until two years ago.
Wales, The South East, London, Cornwall, Scotland, The North West… The floods and storms seems to have struck completely indiscriminately this time.
Another ongoing effect of the rising ocean and Global Warming is that Britain is ceding ever more coastline to the sea every year.
Indonesia has been struck with the worst floods and storms in decades. Major parts of Africa heavy amounts of rain has caused floods and has made a considerable part of the population to become refugees in their own country.
The Storm season is usually ending in December.
The year 2001 was one of the worst years of natural disaster ever recorded.
