   WEEK 38 Sept 10th to 16th 2001

   NOTORIOUSLY UNTRUSTWORTHY

Drug production companies are notoriously untrustworthy and don't tell about serious and often extreme side-effects of their products, four of the world's most recognized medical magazines are claiming according to the BBC. The producers are exaggerating possible positive impact of use and remain silent about even severe side-effects.    The British medical journal The Lancet believe firmly that this can lead to physicians prescribing drugs that are dangerous to a patient. The journal is threatening to boycott drugs that haven't been tested by independent parties.
   - They're not only untrustworthy, but greedy, too, a magazine employee is stating.- Two vices very much related.
Drug production is a multi million dollars industry where profit opportunities are phenomenal. A lot of that profit is used to grease the hands of various control bodies around the world. Drug related deaths are increasing all over the world.
Others say that it was about time someone in the profession took a stand against the drug producers.
