   NORWAY: CHOPPER HUNT ON

Two new wolves were shot earlier today in the Oesterdalen Valley in eastern Norway. The "hunters" shot them from a chopper, using shotguns. This puts the death toll in the governments "official hunt" to three. Tuesday will the hunters take a three day break, before resuming the hunt. Nine wolves has been scheduled for termination with a deadline of April 26th, when new cubs will be born to the hard-tried wolves in the Norwegian Oesterdalen Valley.
Tensions continue to run high between the hunters and the locals on one side and those who want to protect the wolves on the other. There have been death threats and a number of incidents. People, protesting the hunt, have been skiing since before the hunt started. Leonard Mikaelsen, the hunt leader, has called for a moratorium of "unauthorized movement" in the entire area. Four locals attacked earlier this week people protesting the hunt. A tent was cut asunder and the protesters physically assaulted.
