A major cyanide spill from a mining dam in Romania has now reached the river Tisza in Hungary. 120000 inhabitants in the city of Szolnok are now being warned that their drinking water may be poisoned. There is a queue of worried people hoarding from the the city’s deep wells. TV images are revealing tons of dead fish floating in the river’s surface, while the spill is moving down river, contaminating its entire length, soon joining the Danube.
