After the latest violent storm in a long series, the Venezuelan president is proposing a mass exodus from the nation’s coastal area, in exposed areas, north of the capital Caracas. Plans have been under way for time now, for moving people deep into the country, to areas safer from the ever increasing storms, torrential rain and floods.
The official number of deaths are still under thousand, but there are claims, among others, from the mayor of Caracas that as much as 25000 people are deceased in the latest storm.
Bodies are extremely hard to find, as they may be buried deep under the mud and landslide.
